Oppression can come
in odd forms. It means there is a demonic pressing coming from the opposite direction of the believer's intended action. Most of the time oppression is like a toxic leak. It allows demons to have special permission to invade and weigh down daily activities and press thoughts like lead rocks tied onto shoes. The leak is usually due to a history with the occult or to sexual sin. Occasionally it is due to known sin, but the Lord does not let the sin continue long enough to build up an actual demonic invasion unless that sin is knowing contact with or through the occult. The first step is an honest confession. The next step is a change in vector. After that, the Lord will usually bring someone into the situation who has experience in that area or a gift of praying about these situations that is unusual. Oppression must be dealt with. No professional can help - it is a spiritual issue and comes from sin. There are no exceptions. Sometimes children who throw tantrums can suffer from this malady and adults do not understand what is happening. The children have seasons of terrible nightmares and see things that adults know are not there. Of course, the things usually are there, and are made visible through demonic power. While children often see things adults do not, children who actually experience demonic oppression usually have nasty tempers and have not been trained to be in fear of the display of same. What a blessed thing to know that He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. A simple coming the the Lord for help is the beginning of sweet deliverance and He will never, never think anything is too horrid to heal or forgive. Hell wants to cripple and distract and push down. Jesus wants to heal, lighten the load and bring Abundant Life! |
