What is precious to you?
Is it the opinion of others? Is it the absence of hardship? Is it financial
security?
Perhaps it is the success of a child or the unaltered ability to execute
some task.
The One Who hung the stars wants to be precious to us above all else,
and without our setting out on that quest, it will never happen.
For most time and the discipline of the body in prayer and Bible reading
or memorization are basic issues. The Christian who does not put the devotional
life on the top of the priority list does not have an actual interest
in the Lord.
We go after what we want.
He is acutely responsive and has even provided us with the indwelling
Holy Spirit who aids us in prayer.
What does it take to see Him as precious?
Simply breaking our gaze from lesser things, and being available for the
stunning landslide of eternal riches He is holding out to us.
