There are some
thoughts we can not prevent. The enemy is allowed to pierce through the thought veil, and that is the reason we are told to take "every thought and led it away captive. . ." We who are born again into the "Kingdom of His dear Son" have absolute choice over where the thoughts go. Here is the real issue: Have you decided yet whether or not your life will be lived according to God's Word? If you have decided yes, then the issue is simple. For every wrong thought, there is a right and godly and cleansing thought to follow it and led it away. In an era when we are constantly seduced into giving credibility to our thoughts, let us remember - there is a standard. His name is the Word, and He reveals Himself in and through the Bible. His way is a practical and loving wooing that attracts us into the Light. It is the Light that dispels the barnacle power of wrong thoughts and releases the Soldier of the Cross from anger, irritation, fear, depression, frustration and insecurity. We can't prevent the thought, but we can prevent the next thought after it from being in agreement with the enemy. The sin lies in the entertaining of the planted thought and the passivity of agreement with the enemy. We need God's Word. No time? Don't kid yourself. It is not true. We only have a few years left - we must live them in preparation for heaven and in sweet fellowship with the Lord. The mind filled with God's Word is a mind fertile for God's Word alone. |
