David knew to
call upon the Lord. The Soldier of the Cross must remember he is a follower and must be dependent. It is a difficult concept for the flesh, but since the Soldier is not interested in what the mind can conceive, he will be available to follow and receive in the same way a child does. So many have a sense of independence and it is incredibly dangerous. The Soldier must avail himself to the infilling and leading of the Holy Spirit, so that he does not take on the deceptive and sinful posture of self-equipping. It is the most dangerous thing a Soldier can do. Brothers and Sisters, consider the beautiful words of our Brother Paul "For I determined not to know any thing among you save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." (KJV) What did he mean? He meant that his own agenda was put aside, and regardless of any pressuring influences, he had made up his mind that nothing would be promoted, save that which was put forward by our Lord and Savior. Step down, and allow Him to step up! |
