The maturity
of a Soldier of the Cross can be measured by many things, among
which is his immunity to distraction. I have found most people to be easily distracted - just as easily as an egg is broken when a giant truck rolls over it. And yet, we have the Word of God! We are told we are running a race. We are told the situation is already under control. We have One Who commands the wind and the waves, yet we are terrified of itsy-bisty little things that a Soldier has no business yielding to. These things include illness, weather, money, and opinions of others. We may not live as others live - even other Christians. Others measure success and spirituality by visible measures but God does not. And neither should the Soldier of the Cross! |
