As the great
old song says, "The sands of time are sinking!" Isn't it interesting then, that the past has so much pull. It doesn't even have to be the pull of years and years ago, but it can be (and usually is) the pull of the last few hours, and it becomes a consummate preoccupation during the time of thinking about it.. What does the Bible say? If God can restore the years the locusts have eaten, surely He can restore the hours and the minutes. We have a greater tendency to go by sight when it comes to the more recent "mistakes" and out-of-control events. We serve a sovereign Lord who is calling us home even now. Just listen and you will hear Him. He is calling you out of time and into eternity. Stop turning away from eternity into time that has passed. It will infect your soul. |
