As a Soldier
of the Cross, you are not allowed ruptures.
It doesn't matter what the other
person hs done - your behavior is a reflection on you,
not on another's wrongdoing.
Of course there is forgiveness.
The problem is that most believers
do not know how terrible even barbed comments are, and when anger
rises up, the door is wide open for the enemy.
A Christian with any spiritual
sensitivity at all will immediately long to recover the ground.
That is first done in prayer and must be Holy Spirit-led.
Next an apology may or may not
be needed.
Finally, there must be a vision
for godly behavior and a ministry of grace in similar situations.
Grace does not mean going along
with sin, but it does mean refraining from hitting it
back like tennis.
God's people must learn
to behave like God's people!
