If you are upset,
you are probably concerned with yourself more than anything or
anyone else. The flesh is never subtle, but is always attempting deception. When the flesh is injured it blames someone else. When the flesh is offended, it blames someone else. When the flesh has bumbled, it blames someone else. One of the most foolish terms of our era today is "good self image." If a Christian has a good self image, he is focusing on himself too much and he is undoubtedly flailing about in the flesh. If he has a bad self image, he is focused totally on himself, and he is almost in as bad a condition as he would be if he had a good self image. They are both unscriptural and a complete waste of precious time. The Soldier of the Cross must understand that when the Holy Spirit is allowed to rule the thoughts, they are about the One who gave His Word, and about those He came to rescue. No question about it - Jesus first, Others next, You last, spells JOY! |
