We have become
soft. What a great thing to be able to cling to the inspired words of Paul when he wrote about "taking pleasure" in the things are always considered adversity. How can a person possibly learn to take pleasure in sickness? Or misunderstanding? Or persecutions? By taking God at His word, and deciding to agree with Him. It means stepping out and making the claim by faith and in prayer. It means taking as fact the supernatural provision available for those who will obey. It means stepping into eternity now. Heaven will have no heartache, no sickness, no resentment, no guilt or fear, because those things have no eternal value. They are things the Lord allows to refine us for living and prepare us for heaven. We must walk in the truth. That is, those things are not heavenly and they have no power over us. They only feel like it. Once you have met a Christian who has learned to delight in whatever the Lord brings, you have met a genuinely free soldier, and you are never the same. Take up the Cross, and live before anyone and everyone who is watching! |
