The enemy is
always lurking. The Soldier of the Cross must not relax in vigilance and absolutely has to consciously resist the goal of the enemy. His goal is to distract and to drain resources and to slow down as much of the work of the Lord as he can. Our gaze must be set upon Jesus. At the same time, we accept by faith what the Word says, and we act accordingly. There are many things that believers accept without prayer and most of the time they are from the enemy; unexplained illnesses (particularly before meetings), bizarre misunderstandings, recurrent and strange car problems, banking or billing issues that are almost unheard of, and many, many others. The issue is, look away unto the Author and Finisher of Our Faith! Resist distraction. Pray against the thing you suspect and yield to the sovereignty of God in prayer. Do you have a child that has an oddly curious and recurrent sickness? You may not know the source until heaven, but do not allow it to distract you from Love. From prayer. From service. Soldier, the farther you go, the more narrow the Way. The more narrow the Way, the more Glory! |
