must love obedience for the sake of loving obedience. That is what the Word of God teaches. We are not on our own when it comes to knowing what to obey - after all, He has said, my sheep know my voice! Imagine what it must have taken for Abraham to offer up Isaac. It is beyond my comprehension, but one thing I know for sure: the decision to obey God had been made before the Lord asked him to do it. Soldier, our alertness has to do with obedience. Obedience leads to worship. Worship leads to intimacy! |
