The victory
is not in the desired outcome of the issue - the victory is in
Christ. All too often we forget that sight cannot evaluate even the greatest victories, because temporal evidence is just the tiniest representation of what is really going on. After all, the great drama of history is that in the plan of God, the Son appeared defeated. Publicly. Taunted and battered. Not too much to rejoice over. Until the Resurrection! And the Glory that had been all along, became evident. This is the way the Lord works. He is thorough and does not make displays to assure the insecure. But for His own, He promises victory and rescue and balance - in His own time and in His own way, through prayer. Soldier, we are victorious in Him - the Victor whose Name we have taken, and with whom we are in love. And remember: Faith is the Victory! |
