We ought always
to do more than seems possible. It isn't that there must be a vain striving, it is that the Soldier of the Cross must be willing to be stretched. It is easy to do the thing that comes naturally - give expression to pushy thoughts, retreat from new effort, let the tired body dictate. . .But since we are not of this world, the Holy Spirit constantly urges and impels us to press on, break through, and respond to the eternal need and truth rather than the human need and illusion. We can rest when we get to heaven. In the meantime, we must rest in Him, and keep moving! |
