The writer
to the Hebrews makes it clear:
There is a Rest.
There is Place where the Soldier
of the Cross can and leave behind a certain kind of human effort.
It is the kind of effort that tries
to press forward the work of the Lord, but without waiting
on God.
It is lethal.
We may not do it.
Soldier, He hears every cry. He
hears the things that are unspoken because of lack of words.
He hears the throbbing of the soul
and much of it is Holy Spirit appointed. He yearns to teach us
the holy Sabbath rest - where human effort ceases and there is
a supernatural waiting on Him.
Let us obey that commandment and
yield to Him who tell us in the fourth chapter of Hebrews that
there is a way of living that most have not discovered - that
of leaving behind fleshly efforts, and the taking up the Cross.
