So many shy
away from a life of faith because it means death to the flesh. All insurance is artificial. That is, it does not guarantee anything. An economy could collapse or an force of nature could be such that all our best-laid plans come to nothing. But oh, how the flesh loves to try to control the future. If only we could know the next two steps instead of just the next one. The Lord has not designed us that way. We have been created to follow and depend. We have been made to respond to His creativity and when we try so desperately to cling to control, we short-circuit. When we walk by faith, things appear to be too little, too late, and by sight, things get strange. We appear foolish to others and we are not falling into the line of society. Faith does not delete love, but faith often brings the believer into a position where he can't defend his actions or lack of them. Everyone around him wants to know why and wants to understand, and can not bear a course taken if it is one they would not take themselves. But although it always draws criticism and makes the Soldier appear weak to others, faith always releases the Holy Spirit. Faith sees God. Faith brings down strongholds and only faith can hear the marching in the tops of the mulberry trees. Faith leads to more faith. and the frontier is infinite. He has designed more for us than we can possibly experience in one lifetime. There is no door but Faith. |
