Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

All Christians know the Lord wants them to give Him all their anxieties and cares.
     Why is it so difficult?
The Word is clear, and there is certainly not a believing preacher in the world who would instruct listeners to hang on to their worries and wrestle things out themselves.
The fact is, most believers have not yielded the easy things up to the Lord and that is the place of beginning. The instruction in God's Word teaches us that our children are not ours. Our homes are not ours. Our money is not ours.
In fact, we are taught our bodies are not ours.
Yet, we live as though these things were not true. It is rare that people see things as they are explained in the scriptures.
But the Soldier of the Cross has learned that because he is only a pilgrim and a sojourner, he must pray in that way. He must make decisive dedications of these things, and that process prepares him for the release of obedience when things get tough.
For those who have chosen the Narrow Way, it is not a lifestyle, but a Person.
That Way is a Person who is the source of all and who is leading the way. When heartache or unfairness strike, it is normal for the Soldier to go to the Lord and pour out his heart, because he is in the habit of doing so about his daily blessings.
The Soldier of the Cross prays about his schedule. The Soldier of the Cross prays about his speech and his thought life.
So it is only to be expected that the Soldier would flee to his Fortress and High Tower when the storm begins to break things up.
When we get to heaven we will be able to look back and see with amazement that we carried such heavy loads when the Everlasting Arms were just beneath us.
He never gets tired, or rolls His eyes when we falter over and over.
But He does continue to offer rest and refreshment whether in seasons of plenty or seasons of famine.
