Prayer exposes
things.
This happens in different ways :
a believer living in sin will be found out, and a pretender will
be unveiled. Prayer brings light to a situation so that often,
the one who is praying can see what he could not see before.
Prayer filters through the
things that are seen and makes visible the unseen.
Prayer also weakens the ability
of the wrongdoer to cling to the same level of control and brings
to the surface things which he could formerly hide.
Prayer is obedient submission to
the Lord and the requests that are made in this submission are
according to His Word.
That means that there is Light, because
real prayer is one aspect of fellowship with the Lord and that
means walking in the Light.
There are many Christians who simply
don't pray, and they bump and crash through life, operating on
a superficial level even though they have access to stunning
power.
But the Soldier of the Cross walks
in the Light and recognizes others who do also. He values the
time with the Lord and trusts Him to do His perfect work in His
own time and in His own way.
And because he has prayed, usually
over time, he recognizes even subtle loosenings of the roots
of the stronghold and takes no personal satisfaction in the answered
prayer, but rejoices in the divine touch.
He is Light and in Him there is
no darkness.
No prayer, no Jesus.
No Jesus, no Light!
