     We are to live in the awareness that He could come for us at any time!
     It changes everything.
     If I really believe the Word of God and live understanding that I may only have ten or fifteen more minutes of time, I will be far more collected in thought and intent than I would otherwise be.
     It protects me from operating according to sentiment.
     It protects me from shortcuts.
     It keeps me clean.
     It sifts out the things that are biblically important. 
     It stretches me physically.
     It guards my tongue.
     In addition to all that, it happens to be true. The Lord has said it, and I will set my course to live obediently. Should He come tonight, I want to be ready in every sense.
     The battle is in the mind and I will choose to keep in my mind what He said should be there.

     Lord, you know my tendency to fleshly things. Please do whatever needs to be done in me in order to bring about a ready Soldier. I don't want to be embarrassed when I see you face to face - I want to be prepared and accustomed to being empty-handed.
     Please teach me to serve you and to watch for you, my Lord and my God.
