Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

When we ask the Lord for a deeper work, we'd better make sure we are obeying in the areas of conviction we already know He has revealed.
We have a responsibility to walk in all the Light we have. That does not mean we must be perfect, but it does mean we are spending all we have in order to be with Him and obey all we know He has commanded.
When we submit in the areas of known resistance, that's when there is room for a deeper infilling of the Holy Spirit. When I knowingly hang on to even the tiniest area, I dare not ask Him for more, or to be taken beyond where I am, because there is a pocket of disobedience.
The saints who have gone before have left wonderful and stirring stories of what God has done in them and through them, but it has never happened to a man who knew he was resisting - only to the Soldier of the Cross who was desperate to flee this life and follow Him, no matter what the cost.
And the cost has been great - the cost has been the hardest kind of giving up. It has always been the stepping way from opinion and often from vigorous emotional appeals to entrench rather than follow, and it has almost always meant some kind of separation from family and loved ones.
     It always means heaven's finances.
It always means I am wrong and He is right.
It always means His work in me is never done.
It always means the one in front of me comes first.
It always means losing up my life, so that I may find it!
