The Soldier of the Cross does not have a plurality of jobs.
His job is to love the Lord his God, with all that he has and is.
That covers the rest. And it can be a tremendous release when we remember He
never gives us more than we can handle, and how He knows exactly how much is
good for us.
That means if we are overwhelmed or feel short-circuited, we are not attending to
the most important matter at hand and are spreading our humanity thinly over territory
not prepared in prayer.
When we prepare in prayer, or even when we are ambushed, we are able to see
Jesus simply by whipping the thoughts immediately into the Stream of Obedience.
The earth is creaking and groaning, and all creation is straining.
You were not created to creak and groan and strain. You were created to be
stretched by the One who made you and gave Himself for you.
Burn out?
No. Not for those whose eyes gaze upon Him whom they have seen for
themselves.
