     What is a Soldier of the Cross?
     It is the committed Christian who has decided to follow Jesus no matter what  the
cost.
    That believer is eager to submit to the process of the death of the flesh and the 
Cross is beautiful to him.  It is beautiful because the Cross is the divinely appointed
way of living for those who know what is important.
    Hasty reactions, negative feelings and words, temper displays, passivity, 
independence - all of these must go, and the going is a process.  It is usually at least
somewhat visible to those around.
      It is humbling.
      It is confrontive.
     Some fleshly strongholds only crumble when we obediently endure unfairness.
     The Cross always means His will rather than mine.
   "Is there any one who would be my disciple? Let him take up his cross daily, and
follow me. . ."
