We are never on our own.
Never, never, never!
Feeling like it does not make it true. He has said He would never leave us nor
forsake us, so that is the real truth. Period.
Even when you have just done the most unthinking or unloving thing, He still has
not deserted you.
You see, our concept comes from our experience. When we have dealt a rotten
blow, we have learned that even those who love us will grimace and back up a long
way.
But the One who made you is not that way. He is not passive or squishy, but He
does not need to back up. He is not the God of false balance, but He sits on the
Throne of Grace, to which we have free and immediate access.
Soldier, did you goof?
Don't take yourself so seriously. Put your record and agenda aside, get right,
tell the Lord about it, and move on. He is waiting to cleanse and heal, and He will
more than make up for the foolish moment if He is invited to do so.
