Satan's plan is one of three things - seduce into deliberate sin, make you numb, or ambush you. All three come cloaked, and all three are exposed by prayer. No, we are not perfect. Yes, we are told there comes a time when a believer ceases all deliberate sin, and even though he is still growing and is still a Pilgrim, pitfalls are exposed by prayer. Soldier, when you pray, the Light turns right onto the thing you are praying about. How do you pray about your own spiritual life? Are you trying to do it yourself and decide what the problems are? Or are you presenting yourself each day as a living sacrifice? The enemy is very real. He is not only attacking those who are on the Battle front - he hates us all. Our preoccupation is never to be the enemy, but we are to be always focused on Jesus. Those who really want Him will run to Him with bends in the road and unexpected events, and He will always reveal as much as we need to know to follow Him and grow in wisdom. Satan's desperate attempts are to paralyze us. He hates us and wants desperately to rob the time and to divide. If we are gazing at the Bright and Morning Star, all else will pale and we will not have trouble recognizing the enemy. When the hurtful thing happens, the Bible has clear instructions for The Soldier of the Cross - look up and move on! |
