Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

  How then shall we live?
We live for Him, in Him, and through Him.
That means that as we grow older and hopefully mature in him, the importance of
our own success diminishes. It means decisions take on a new dimension - no
longer are we trying to make everything work, but we are learning simple obedience.
Our feet must be planted on the Rock of Ages, instead of plowing through the
mires of worldly living.
It lies in the perspective, doesn't it?
If I think I must make my own way and fix it all myself, I become rather important in
my own eyes, and I must insure that it is the same in the eyes of others also. As I get
older, I will become more and more jaded to the needs of others, I will be speaking
constantly of the past, and I will have to tell details over and over to convince myself
and everyone else that the tale is true.
But if I have determined to plant my treasure in heaven, the older I get, the more
I will want to change. The deeper into prayer I will go. I will be bored with the talk of
self and self-opinion because all I want to talk about is, What is True.
Soldier, every minute seduction lurks around you. Words enter your stream of
thoughts and they form plots against you and against other Brothers and Sisters.
     Walk with Jesus.
     Look at Him.
     Memorize his Word.
     Love His Body.
Eat His flesh and drink His blood.
And, do not look back except to be thankful for the deliverance of our God.
