He lets us know what we need to know. So often we strain to know things that are withheld from us to teach us faith. Usually we want to know "why?" something happened or "how?" something else will happen. Young people always what to know "what?" will happen. For the Soldier of the Cross, there must be a deliberate decision to delete these unbiblical questions from the thought life. They are all anti-faith and most of the believing world urges Christians to consider them, but from the standpoint of reason. Christian bookstores all over the world are full of attempts to answer the three empty questions, and they all lead into vain and shallow muddlings of the human mind in imagining what God is doing or has done. We have the Bible. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit. He is not going to leave us. He will withhold no good thing from us. We don't need to understand it now, and actually, we do not have the component needed to understand it. We'll have that in eternity. Right now, He has asked us to go through each day obediently on the authority of His Word. That's good enough for me! |
