Much of our suffering is the result of our own choices.
The Bible teaches us the Soldier of the Cross has power - power to take on a
godly attitude concerning difficult situations and people.
This is a fallen world and there is no point where our lives on earth can be protected
from that reality. Christians are treated often more unfairly than others, they suffer
personal loss and disgrace, and they often toil long and hard while others rest.
But, we have sight.
We are loved and we have the Everlasting Arms.
We have the indwelling Holy Spirit, and we are under The Blood!
That means we have choice. Choice that others do not have.
We are not merely choosing another way, but we are choosing to obey the One who
rescued us.
That means the attitude I have about each thing and each person then Lord allows
in my life is up to me. I have already been released from the bondage of helplessness
and living free in Christ is a deliberate decision, executed in daily choices.
When I obey and take the attitude of faith, I am released from the sting of the
situation. Maybe nothing has changed, but lining up with God means I can see as much
as He thinks is good for me.
What I can't see, doesn't have to limit me because, after all, faith is the only door to
freedom for those who have chosen to accept the Gift.
