Until a believer prays outloud in his private time with the Lord, he has not known a
prayer life.
Unless there is a physically restraining reason for not speaking outloud, all private
prayer ought to be such. Prayer that is not uttered into the air tends to be thought that
draws a ring around the person or need, and it is only when the heart is expressed
through the mouth that the petition becomes a focused request.
Of course there are times when prayers explode from the heart during other
activities and when others are around. But one who never prays privately outloud does
not usually aim the request directly to a listening, Sovereign Lord who will, in fact, do
something.
Many will say "I have prayed much about such and such. . ." but often it is not true.
They have thought about it much and perhaps even with eyes closed. But when there
is real and ongoing petition made about something, it can not be sustained over time
unless the one praying is doing so with formed sentences and guarding carefully the
words chosen before the Throne.
Soldier, it is a physical discipline fought against by all hell.
Make your body stand before Him, and express the situation according to God's
Word.
Do it often.
Do it outloud.
