The ministry of grace is never wasted.
It is easy to evaluate the power and/or effect of grace by the reaction of the
beneficiary. Of course, that is not possible.
We are told how to behave. We do not minister love to get something in return,
but we do so because the Soldier who has spent time with Jesus bears His likeness,
and Love is the result.
We have no way of knowing what happens when Love radiates heaven's
warmth into the heart and melts the icy regions. Externally, the person may seem
colder and more unpleasant.
Who knows? It might be a defense.
And anyway, it is not our business. We obey and we bear those to prayer He puts
before us.
Did that one die with cursing on his lips and was he harder than ever? Perhaps at
the instant of death the Lord appeared to him with an outheld hand and he took it
because you kept loving.
There is much we don't know and God has made it clear we operate on a need-to-
know basis only.
I only know I will be eternally grateful for those who loved me when I was totally
unlovable.
