We may not be passive! There are many signs of passivity that do not qualify as such for the unsaved who are without complete choice, but for the Redeemed, they indicate a flag-in-the-breeze thought pattern. Here are just a few: Irritation. Being frustrated ( no, it is not the fault of the frustrating thing - it is your lack of active agreement with God's Word.) Resentment. Worry Continuing fear. Ongoing guilt. Sloppiness. Of course, the list is endless, but for the Soldier of the Cross - he who embraces the place of the death of the flesh - there is release from these quicksand traps.I t is found in the daily decision, made in prayer, to step into the momentum of the truth of the Sovereignty of God. He has said we must not go by sight. The reason? Because in the dimension of time, we do not have the capacity to see everything about any situation. We are not intended to see it all, but we are intended to give it up by faith, to react by faith, and to proceed by faith. Not many are interested in this way of living. Those who are, don't live in hills and valleys. They have an evenness that results from a flow of submission. Soldier, it is a learning process. Not many Christians take to heart God's Word on living the daily life. We were never promised we could live without pain or grief. We were never promised a sweet marriage or perfect children. But we were promised it would all come together for good for those who would walk according to His promises. Learn to recognize your thoughts. Make a list of the areas your thought life flips and flops about all the time and bring that list to your prayer closet. Tell the Lord about it. Agree with Him outloud that the Bible declares we are to take to Him our anxieties and cares, and we are to learn to align our thoughts with His thoughts. The One who loves you desperately and thoroughly will open your eyes and teach you to live. The battle is in the mind, and we'd better learn how to fight! |
