Mabel Frances, missionary to Japan in the early part of the 20th century, said when she asked the Lord to take away all that was not useful to Him, He tested her by putting incredibly difficult people in her life. She was talked about, talked to, as well as badly slandered. She was misunderstood by other missionaries and although there were some that were tremendous examples and friends, she learned to find her stability in Jesus. It takes much disappointment and hurt to learn to trust Him alone, and minister to all others. When we have been through those deep waters, we have the capacity to fully revel in the fellowship of others who have been through the same testings. Soldier, remember, the things you long for the most - His Presence, His Life, the fellowship of His Servants, these things come at a cost. Death to the Flesh. |
