Our words expose us.
As Amy Carmichael used to say, "When the cup is tipped over, what's inside
will spill out."
Yes, we must second guess every word. Recreational spewing is so common,
most people are not aware when they are doing it.
Wives complain so much about their husbands they deafen their own ears and the
conscience is seared.
Men make sexual comments with a cavalier attitude and
cheapen words of love.
Soldier, we may not speak words that we know might quench the Holy Spirit.
How do we change? By considering each subject, then each phrase, then each
word. His Name is The Word. He left us His Word.
He created the universe and sustains it ". . .by His might Word of Power. . ."
Do not be casual about any part of your speech. The angels and demons are
listening and watching, and when you speak amiss, demons can leak in and influence
through the little doors your tongue opens.
Most of the time, Christians who have loose tongues suffer from deppression,
anger, and worry. They often have mysterious illnesses that no doctor can
understand.
Most of all, words oppose or declare our position in faith.
Heaven's finest will be those who have leashed the tongue and paid the price.
