Soldier, you must seek to live by and minister through the Tree of Life and never the Tree of Knowledge. How can you tell? The Tree of Knowledge is from experience without the Holy Spirit, and from learning without the Holy Spirit. If you issue an answer based on the usual experience, a common teaching, or a learned response, it is probably from the Tree of Knowledge. Have you come before Him and made yourself available to minister from the Tree of Life? If not, please do so now in determined prayer. Oh Soldier of the Cross, we are in the business of standing out of the way and offering our bodies and faculties as living sacrifices. That means we must wait for Wisdom, and we may not simply give then right answer or offer counsel out of experience alone. Most of Christianity is untrained in this area, and even those who have been offered His way are afraid to trust Him. He never does anything the same way twice. Although He never goes against His own Word, you must be careful to let Him have freedom when you minister. Never offer advice. Advice comes out of a repertoire and is terribly dangerous. It is usually mingled with opinion, and sets the listener into a by-sight mode instead of a by-faith mode. We who are created must wait totally upon Him, Who made us and awaits to introduce us moment by moment to His infinite rainbow of counsel. |
