The Bible teaches us we ought to love one another without judging each other. What does that mean? One thinks his brother has a car that is too fine and is so fancy, it is a bad testimony. Then another brother thinks one ought to have a nicer car because it is not a good testimony to have a poor or humble vehicle. Who is right? Neither. It is not the business of one of God's servants to decide what another should have. Abraham was stunningly wealthy, yet he is called the "friend of God." The widow had only one mite left, and she gave it all. Clearly she was not wealthy, yet the Lord pointed out her faith. We must cease investigating one another and get about the business of Love. If there is deliberate sin it will be dealt with in the Holy Spirit and within the local assembly. If there is overt idolatry, the Lord will appoint a mature one through whom He will correct. In any event, supernatural Love that comes as the result of laid-down lives will bring conviction and His consuming Presence. Much prayer blocks out the things that do not matter so much, and brings the heart of the one to light. Much prayer leads to much Love. Much Love leads to much holiness. |
