There is no intimacy with the Lord without other believers. This business of "Jesus and me" is not scriptural. We need one another. Yes, He is available in prayer. Yes, we have the Indwelling Holy Spirit. But He has made it clear, there is a special presence of the Lord when those who are yielded come together. No yieldedness, no Holy Spirit. No Holy Spirit, no Jesus. That is why most churches in the world today do not have the powerful, raw Presence of the Lord. It is also why there is little prevailing prayer - because so many think that a few minutes of prayer will result in impacted feeling or experience. Isn't it incredible that He set things up so that we could experience Him in intimate fellowship with each other? These things work together. There can be no actual fellowship unless those who come together have prayed. It only takes two or three, and there He is! But Soldier, you must drop your own agenda. Nothing is as desirable as the Presence of the Lord Jesus. And, when you seek Him above all else, other things fall into place. He created you for Himself - not for yourself. You are the object of His attention and thought. When you present yourself to Him, He is won beyond description. What else could there be? What else compares? He said that his Own would be marked by their Love for one another. Let us set about this in prayer. We must be available to Love the Brethren. It is supernatural and it ushers in His Presence. |
