Heaven does not ring with enthusiasm, but rather the exuberance is the result of the effect of the Glory of The Lord. Some in the Church today do all they can to drum up enthusiasm. The problem with enthusiasm is, you have to maintain it because it can not maintain itself. It is an experience of momentum rather than an experience of response to sight. When a blind man is healed, he is not enthusiastic. He is enraptured because he can see. He has before him things that are, and things that have a dimensional quality. That is how we will see Jesus in Heaven, and to a great extent, that is how we are able to see Him now. Remember the verse, ". . .but we see Jesus. . ." Also, at the beginning of his first letter, John explains how he and others saw Jesus and touched Him. His reality was vivid to them. Enthusiasm can be the result of a human effort to get evidence of physical direction on a matter, but it can never touch revelation. What the Lord does is permanent. Do not let yourself be swayed by seductive programs, arguments, or music. Consider carefully - are you merely feeling a spirit, or, have you seen Jesus? |
