Our children must learn to pray.
Not only how to pray, but to pray.
I have always been uncomfortable with tiny children saying grace before meals,
because they have not yet learned that they have fallen natures and need Jesus. At
the same time, they usually have not reached the age of accountability and absolutely
must learn that prayer is essential to daily living.
I believe the answer lies in never letting the child lead in family or public prayer,
such as meals, but always encouraging him or her to pray before bed and or privately.
If you err, err on the side of too much, rather than being afraid to let the child pray.
If the child wants to pray, please! Let him.
Brothers and Sisters, most believers rarely stand or kneel or sit or lie in honestly
before the Throne of Grace, and it is time to change!
If the Lord tarries, leave your children with a legacy of prayer.
If He comes, leave your children with a legacy of prayer.
If you get hit by a truck tomorrow, leave your children with a legacy of prayer.
Teach your children that prayer is more essential than air.
