"The Lord loveth a cheerful giver. . . "
This applies to many things, and for a Soldier of the Cross, it means we ought to
complain about absolutely nothing.
Many Christians gripe about the weather. They carry on about physical discomfort,
even irritations that are not disabling.
They writhe and mope about their personal situations. And, of course almost all
humans complain about the way they are treated.
There is not one verse in the Pauline epistles that would indicate anything other
than Paul's deep satisfaction in God's choice for him. He had to be suffering
numerous physical problems. He had been deserted by many, and he had no
physical freedom.
He was falsely accused.
We know he had been betrayed by Christians, left for dead more than once, beaten,
stoned, adrift on the sea. . .
What is your biggest problem today? Does your mind grind away at it in constant
complaint? You want everything to change?
Are you feeling sorry for yourself, or resentful, or angry?
Did you give the Lord your life, or did you not?
If you did, get inside the Shelter. Say what He wants you to say, think what He
wants you to think, and go where He wants you to go.
The more you give up, the more freedom and sight there is. Then, and then only
will you see.
When you can see, you will gladly give.
