Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The Soldier of the Cross must learn how to live.
We are not permitted to enter into household squabbles and we are to refrain from
scoring points in domestic arguments.
We are not allowed to pout.
We are not allowed to punish.
When there are deliberately cutting words or selfish and wound-licking reactions
to the other person, repentance must take place immediately.
The Soldier of the Cross has taken an assertive and obedient position - that of
eagerly submitting to the death of the flesh. It means wisdom has more weight
than the sting of another's tongue.
It means an opportunity to be "an observer only" as in Psalm 91.
It means the flesh dies as the result of choices made during and after difficult
experiences.
Teaching about the death of the flesh means nothing until the moment of choice.
The old nature is hypersensitive and resentful. The New Nature must rule in
choice.
      It is never too late.
Learn to live, letting your tongue be gracious and your daily presence sensitive
to wisdom and the needs of others.
Tell the Lord. He is eager to lead you.
