You can't rely on the way you feel. Even in ministry, remember the enemy loves to project a feeling on you that is the opposite from reality. You can share the Lord with someone and be simple and straight forward, and as soon as the conversation is over, it is possible to feel like the lowest of the low. Feeling like a failure is an emotion. Recognize that. And, the enemy comes at us all the time with emotions that are experienced. Most of the time, the worse you feel, the more spiritually successful the episode was. This does not apply to that instinctive response we have when we have deliberately done something wrong or have been smarmy about a thing. That feeling is conviction, and should not be confused with the feeling the enemy brings. Soldier of the Cross, serve Him. Look up and move on. |
