The Lord can and will forgive anything. Many Christians carry around incredible burdens because of guilt. Because their sin seems so severe, or the results are so terrible, it is easy for them to think the Lord's forgiveness is given to those whose offenses are less serious. The answer does not lie in self-forgiveness. One has no capacity to forgive his own sin. The Bible says God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In the sight of God, sin is sin, and the offenses, whether big or little, are all sins that separate us from God. The issue is honest confession and a willingness to submit to the Lord. Has there been a secret murder? Maybe a public confession is needed and maybe not. But to the Lord, the issue of forgiveness is no more difficult that a far lesser offense. David paid for his sin, but he was surely forgiven. Soldier of the Cross, the New Birth places us into a Kingdom of newness. Meet with Him and tell Him about it out loud. Let go of the burden. Move in freedom.
