Why can we not simply put aside the opinions of others?
We know from God's Word we should not live under that influence. In fact, we
know a lot. We can quote things, explain things, see through things, but when the
stinging realization hits that someone disapproves, or worse, someone has inverted
our intention or position, it is almost unbearable.
Then, we must go to one after the other and attempt a false balance. We must
recount the situation with editorial and persuasive color, and we must get the
ear-wearer to see it our way. We want someone to side us.
And, the more vocal or dramatically wrong the misunderstanding or accusation,
the more people we must convince.
Soldier of the Cross, He who was accused went to the Cross, ignoring the
shame.
It is supernatural, and the flesh cannot resist false balance. The Spirit can.
If you have set your vector toward eternity and Truth, you will have these struggles
because we really are traveling through a wilderness.
Don't be foolish. Do not invest even the tiniest corner of your treasure in the
admiration of others.
When we are in eternity looking back, the fleeting element of time will be
staggering in its briefness.
Soldier, we have One who leads us with His eyes.
Look up and move on!.
