| The Cross will never be reconfigured. It will always be the Old Rugged Cross, and it will always be the symbol of a Laid Down Life. That is its beauty, and it becomes attractive and desirable to the one who continues to tell the Lord he will belong to Him and none other. Soldier, the Lord is not going to transform you by education alone. That education - hearing and learning - must go through the Cross because it is only in the experience of Choice that the flesh can die. Remember also, the experience of The Cross took place outside the city wall, and it will be the same for you. There is nothing popular or glamorous about The Cross. The taking up of the Cross will always be the point in your life where heaven is made visible on earth. |
