Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

     Know when to be silent.
It is easy to blurt in explosive relief, and it is tempting to say nothing when
the saying of a thing is painful.
It is entirely another matter to be silent when the tongue is lashing about the
mouth just longing to score a point, or to silence the offender by humiliation.
Of course, the flesh always wants to let just one person know its vast
knowledge,or what the privileged secret is, or just how wrong the listener is.
     A Believer must be discreet.
There is a big difference between secrets and confidences.
Soldier of the Cross, be wise with the tongue. Do not release it for vindication
or self-justification.
     Do not leak confidences.
Resist the temptation of sounding insightful.
     Stop correcting others in conversation.
There is a time to speak and a time to be silent. The flesh always wants to
reverse what should be.
     Pray about this matter.
