| The Cross is neither a project nor a standard.
It is not a bridge, and it is not a loathsome burden that must be borne or
endured.
The Cross is what God has designed for the death of the flesh. What is your
flesh, anyway?
It is the old man. It is that part of you that wants to be right. Wants to be
heard. Wants to be vindicated. Wants to be in control.
Soldier of the Cross, are you offended? It is your flesh.
Are you worried? It is your flesh.
Are you irritated? It is your flesh.
Do you have to tell? It is your flesh.
Is there anything to which you are a slave? It is the flesh.
Soldier, we all deal with the same thing. The issue is, will you obey God's Word,
or will you have to seek the release of your own emotions?
One is the Cross. The other is the flesh.
He who takes up the Cross does so in prayer. Outloud.
The Lord honors it, and He does the rest.
Do it.
Today.
