Joy follows obedience.

The only way there can be a joyful heart at the same tam as sorrow is, a pattern of obedience.

An obedience Soldier is on who talks to the Lord about submission. He or she talks to the Lord about availability. He or she talks to the Lord about being dead to the world and alive unto Christ.

The richest freedoms do not just happen They are the fruit of seeking the thing the Lord has said are important to Him.

Yes, there are times that are like Amy Carmichael's poem that begins, ". . .Thy songbird hath a broken wing. . ." . Yet, even in the greatest suffering, there can be joy in what God has promised, what He has done, and what He will do.

Joy and happiness are not the same. Happiness is an emotion. There is nothing wrong with happiness. But joy is much deeper.

Joy flows from agreeing with God.
