What do you do when you are verbally assaulted? Much of the time, you absorb the attack. That does not mean the words are taken in, or even taken seriously. It just means the wisest thing might be silence. Many Christian homes are filled with negative conflict. It becomes part of daily life, and it erodes at peace and at the core of any harmony. Soldier, learn wisdom of the tongue. Most of the time, when the offending party in on a rampage, the best response is silence. It is never appropriate to answer back in kind. We are to live at peace with all men, as much as possible. That includes those closest to us. | |
