Life

Are you able to see the brevity of life?

The Ancient of Days has allowed the Holy Spirit to reveal the limit each has with regard to choosing eternal direction.  No one is without excuse.  For you, the issue is, do you see that those without Christ are without Hope?

     How clear is it?

How available are you?  No one who goes over the cliff can ever return.

You know He is real.  You called to him and He answered you.  You must make it known.  Surely, you have not lost sight of the desperate and eternal condition of those who do not know Him.

Soldier of The Cross, keep things in perspective.  Your bills are not more important than the one who has no Savior.  Your reputation is not more important than the one who has no Savior.  Your schedule is  not more important than the one who has no Savior.

Are you available?  May He use you?  Have you told Him so?

     Tell Him.  Aloud.
     Today.

Today:

Do you have a stated purpose for the day, or are you tumbling from one thing to another in an attempt to get things done and put them behind?

Soldier of The Cross, Soldiers must act like Soldiers.  You have your orders, and they are in God's Word.

If you have met the Savior, if you can say you know it, if you know He has touched you and if you are willing to agree with God, you must set out to serve whether you are ten years old, or a hundred and ten years old.

Every word is important.  Every thought is important.  Every decision has a consequence.  God's Word must be taken in afresh each day in order to have fuel for prayer.  Prayer must set the tone for the day and prayer is establishes your operational availability as the moments pass.

We have been told that we are not able to understand it all now, but that we will understand it in the bye and bye.  Do believe it?  Do you agree with it?

     Let your hours reflect it.

Years before I met the Lord, I was a graduate student in
Rochester New York.  I had been raised with the Gospel and under the teaching of a deep and committed, believing father.  But I had rejected the faith because Jesus had never been real to me.

In those years, the biggest conflict I had was an encounter with an old man in the basement of a big department store on the main drag.   I took a package into a tiny room to be wrapped for mailing and the worker was at least eighty years old.  His hands were gnarled and twisted with arthritis.   He had to secure the edges of the wrapping paper with his little fingers and it was awkward and visibly difficult.

My problem was that the old man was exploding with joy.  I know it was the Lord.  I avoided his eyes because they were filled with Love and I knew he was already aware of my own empty spiritual condition.

I never saw him again, but at the moment of salvation, I knew the Lord had arranged that meeting and that I had been in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

     Soldier, cheapen nothing.
     Live for eternity.
Resolve to claim the verses that let you know wherever your feet are planted, the ground is the Lord's
     Soldiers must act like Soldiers.

     Move!

Eternity:

     Do you think about eternity?

Or, are you always occupied with the things that seem to demand immediate attention or resolution?

There is no question that we are preparing for something more.  In addition we who have met Him, know that He is preparing us.  So then, why is it so hard to look away to the One who is the Author and finisher?  How can we lend attention in the direction of the One who is The Lover of Our Soul?

Soldier of The Cross,  your decision is a daily one.  There is a daily standing before the Throne of Grace, and it means a declaration of the purpose of your own life.  Do you or don't you have a backbone?

I have certainly been challenged in this area, and probably you have also.  Every day is a bottom line day.  Every hour is a bottom line hour.  Is there some incredibly bizarre accusation or distraction?  How important is it?  Will you turn away from the call of The Master?

Each day and each hour, you must decide what is important.  It can't be the immediate.  It must be the eternal.

Soldier of The Cross, listen to me:  there s nothing else.  There is no one else.
     Look up and Move On!

God is No Man's Debtor:

We have a God who blesses and holds nothing back.

Often you have heard that it is not possible to outgive God.  The fact of the matter is, few there are who are willing to stand on the Promises when it comes to giving.

God loves a cheerful giver.  This is not limited to finances but also covers time, energy and any other resource or commodity.

Soldier of The Cross, look for the opportunity and invest in eternity.

The Thrill:

     What is your greatest thrill?

I love to tell people that the reason I married my husband is because his idea of a date was to fast and pray, and visit someone who was dying.   Even now, one of my favorite things about him is that he will awaken in the wee hours and insist that we pray for someone.

What is thrilling to you?  Is it possible to look at your life and tell what it is that calls and motivates you?

Soldier of The Cross, be filled with God's Word.  As soon as you get lazy, priorities change.  Tell Him daily what it is about Him that thrills you.

     It is about choice.

     Choose Jesus.

When we See Jesus:

It is not possible to see now.

But when we are present with Him, we will know why.  We will see how and we will realize how it all fit together.  In the meantime, He is preparing us to be with Him for eternity.

It is easy to loose track of the eternal picture and merely concentrate on getting over the next high slope.  There are circumstances and heartaches that seem to absorb any energy whether physical or otherwise.  Some seasons are rough to the extent that getting through the hours seems an insurmountable feat.

Yet, He has only designed and delivered and allowed the best.

It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus.

Confidence:

The Lord brings us through whatever we need in order to find our security in Him.

It is too easy to rely on the things we can do, or the things we know.  When we stand before Him and tell Him He can do anything with our lives, our bodies and our faculties, He lovingly moves to prepare us for Heaven.

There is no limit to His training - that is, when the training is welcome.

Soldier of The Cross, step away from predictable security and learn to lean on Him .

Control of the Tongue

Soldier of The Cross, learn to control your tongue.

When you are the target of biting comments, are you compelled to respond?  Is it important to you that the other person be put in his place?

Do you fantasize about what you could have said to balance the scale?

What does the Bible say?    Be quick to hear and slow to speak.

For the Christian, the tongue is the measure of commitment and conversion.

His Likeness:

      How available are you?

Is He able to do whatever He wants?  Have you so told Him?

Many things can be predetermined.     Are your things of tantamount importance to you?   Are your finances more important than anything else?

Are you a Soldier of The Cross, or are you of another interest?

You must make that decision.  It is possible that you think there is anyone else?

     Is there any better Way?

Your Story - His Glory:

I have never known anyone to express regret for meeting the Lord.

I have heard many say they wished they had prayed more, yielded to Him more quickly and learned more of God's Word.

Look at what the Lord has done in your life.  How do you know He is real?  How has He answered prayer?  What hope He has provided!  He has met your every need.  He has planted you in the Body and He has knit you in with Love.

You have Ebeneezer stones in your life.  Tell about them.  Report over and over the different ways you have seen the reality and provision of God.

It never gets old.  The more you repeat it, the newer it gets.
